Tech rout on AI spending fears

· Fact-checked before it aired. Unconfirmed claims from this segment are not shown.

Fox News' 2026 election-night primetime audience fell roughly 48% from its 2022 midterm level — from about 7.4–7.7 million viewers to about 3.9 million — and dropped from the most-watched network to fifth place, per preliminary Nielsen figures.

The claim appears to be inaccurate: South Korea's official monthly goods exports have not reached $115 billion; recent monthly totals have generally been around $55–65 billion. A 94% year-over-year jump to $115 billion would be roughly double the normal range.

Bloomberg reports that Apple has cut internal AI budgets, including lowering some engineers' daily AI usage cap from $300 to $200, following similar cost-limiting moves at Microsoft and McKinsey.

Rep. Yassamin Ansari did say that Democrats' day-one agenda should include a pause on advanced AI development, regulation of the industry, and a ban on artificial superintelligence. This is a commentary/opinion post comparing Rep. Ansari's AI proposal to banning the internet.
