US Law Enforcement agencies (FBI, USSS, IRS and more) provided vital help in this incident, including tracking, freezing, etc. A tweet can’t fully express our gratitude. Many crypto bros may not realize, a lot of the "why bitcoin didn't drop more?" credit goes to them. 🙏 https:/

What the hosts said

BCrypto After Dark, and the FBI just named North Korea in that six-billion-dollar Binance hack.
ANow CZ is thanking U.S. law enforcement by name: FBI, Secret Service, IRS.
BCZ posted, quote, "A tweet can't fully express our gratitude," and said much of why bitcoin didn't drop more goes to U.S. law enforcement.
BThat's the part I'd argue with. The feds helped track and freeze, but bitcoin not falling is mostly Binance having the balance sheet to cover it.
ANo, official attribution matters more. If this looked like an inside job, the market would be in freefall.
BBinance already paused withdrawals and then said they're coming back in phases. That's the reassurance, not the FBI statement.
ABoth can be true: U.S. agencies tracked it, and Binance could absorb the hit.
BFine, I'll give them the tracking. I still think balance sheet is the story.
ADifferent corner of startup finance: a post on X from Red Carpet HQ is circulating that Angel Studios is the exception that proves the rule for crowdfunded exits.
BWhat's the claim exactly?
AThat investors only got liquidity after a Chapter 11, a rebrand, and a SPAC merger onto the New York Stock Exchange.
BAnd that it's supposedly one of 21 IPOs out of more than six thousand issuers.
AThe number has no official source, but even if it's half right, exits in that market are rare.
BThat's not a fun fact, that's a warning for retail money.
AOr just the reality of early-stage investing, where the post leaves out the other side.
BBut the post frames it like a win. One win out of six thousand is not a win.
AFair. The exception proves the rule, and the rule is mostly no exit.
