Dutch intel hacked Kushner's iPhone?

· Fact-checked before it aired. Unconfirmed claims from this segment are not shown.

Vanity Fair published an excerpt from Matthew Cole's forthcoming book alleging Dutch military intelligence (MIVD) obtained screenshots of Jared Kushner's iPhone via files on a GRU hacker's server, then exploited an iPhone vulnerability to watch his screen. The report says Kushner logged into a UAE bank account at First Abu Dhabi Bank associated with the Watani Al Emarat Foundation charity, into which Saudi and Emirati figures had transferred roughly $750 million. It also describes a separate "Beta account" in Israel funded via Azerbaijan with roughly $1 billion. Kushner called the claims "completely insane" and "categorically false," saying they "never happened." His attorney Chad Mizelle said "there are no bank accounts. They don't exist." The report does not provide bank statements, wire

The book alleges Middle East leaders sought to fund a foreign policy slush fund tied to Kushner and the first Trump administration, with Kushner as a signatory rather than owner. It suggests such arrangements could have required federal financial disclosure, tax reporting, or foreign-agent registration, and raises possible bribery or ethics violations.

A Vanity Fair excerpt alleges Dutch intelligence monitored Jared Kushner's iPhone and that he had signatory access to a UAE bank account funded with roughly $750 million from Saudi/UAE sources. Kushner and his attorney flatly deny the accounts existed, and the Vanity Fair report itself presents no bank records, wire transfers, or account numbers; the allegations are unconfirmed and disputed. What the hosts said

COver on Bluesky, Jon Cartwright says security is nonexistent in the AI era, and that we should be slightly concerned.
MSlightly? Just slightly?
CHe's British about it. But nine hundred and eighty four likes on a post that's basically a shrug is its own observation.
MHe's right though. We saw the Atlantic story about AI answers misdirecting political donations. Security is less a wall and more a suggestion.
CThe bigger issue is the AI part. Attackers used to need skill. Now a model can write the phishing email, find the vulnerability, and run the campaign while the hacker naps.
MBut let's be fair. AI also helps defenders. Formal verification, anomaly detection. It's an arms race, not a surrender.
CArms race implies both sides are equally armed. When one side automates the entire kill chain, I get slightly concerned.
MYou should write a Bluesky post about it.
