What the hosts said

MIchiro turns 52 today, and MLB just reposted the craziest hit record you'll ever hear.
LTwo hundred sixty-two hits in one season. That number should not exist.
MHe broke George Sisler's record on October 1st, 2004. That record stood for 84 YEARS.
LAnd nobody's touched 262 since. Twenty years later, the closest guy is still like forty hits short.
MIchiro was 30 years old as an MLB rookie and still put up numbers that look fake.
LHere's my thing though. People always say he could've hit for power. I say he was perfect.
MYou wouldn't trade 15 of those singles for a few more homers?
LAbsolutely not. He was a weapon. On base, stealing, scoring. You don't mess with the machine.
MThe machine had 10 straight seasons with 200 hits. TEN. That's not normal.
LHappy birthday to a legend.
