And both can't be right."},{"host":"Chris","text":"Ukraine says satellite access is STILL restricted, even after Trump said Musk lifted it."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"Let me lay this out clearly. The Washington Post reported that Ukrainian soldiers said Starshield service was disrupted Friday."},{"host":"Chris","text":"Meanwhile, Musk himself posted that a, quote, 'loophole was closed last week.' MeidasTouch jumped on that as an admission."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"It's not a clean admission. But it sure contradicts the White House line that everything's fine."},{"host":"Chris","text":"So either someone's lying, or nobody knows what the other is doing."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"That's the part that worries me. The President and the richest man in the world aren't on the same page about a war zone's comms."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"And soldiers are the ones paying for it."},{"host":"Chris","text":"Look, I get why SpaceX tightened things. Starshield is a defense product. You can't have it used for every offensive operation without limits."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"But that's not the issue here. This isn't about whether limits are okay. It's that the messaging is a mess."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"Ukraine is hearing one thing from Washington, and their battlefield reality is another."},{"host":"Chris","text":"And on the other side, you have Bluesky calling for SpaceX to be nationalized. That's absurd."},{"host":"Chris","text":"Steven Beschloss posts, 'Should Starlink and SpaceX be nationalized to minimize Musk's power?' Come on."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"That's a fantasy. The US government doesn't run satellite internet better than SpaceX. It doesn't run anything better."},{"host":"Chris","text":"Exactly. Nationalizing SpaceX would kill it. That's not a serious policy, it's a temper tantrum."},{"host":"Chris","text":"But the actual problem isn't going away: one guy controls the comms for a foreign military."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"And that's a real debate worth having. Whether private companies should have that much control over national security infrastructure."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"Not nationalization. But maybe more oversight. Maybe clearer Pentagon contracts."},{"host":"Chris","text":"I can see an argument for making the Pentagon the customer of record, not unilateral control by a CEO."},{"host":"Chris","text":"But the idea that Musk is 'deciding foreign policy' is lazy."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"He's not deciding it. He's just in a position where his product IS the foreign policy tool. That's the uncomfortable part."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"And the White House can't even accurately describe what that tool is doing today."},{"host":"Chris","text":"That's the story. Not deportation to the Sun, which, by the way, is a post from an account literally named God."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"I saw that. Bless the little heart of whoever wrote it. Very serious foreign policy analysis."},{"host":"Chris","text":"Speaking of AI things that may or may not be real, there are two 'launches' floating around right now."},{"host":"Chris","text":"An AI daily news account says Canva built its own image generator, called Canva Craft."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"And another says Anthropic launched something called Claude Duet, an agent that works on your computer and sends a daily brief."},{"host":"Chris","text":"Back up. Claude Duet? An agent running tasks in the background?"},{"host":"Matilda","text":"The account claims it's in a US waitlist for Pro and Max users. No release date."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"I couldn't find any official confirmation from Anthropic or Canva on either of these."},{"host":"Chris","text":"So we've got two possibly real, possibly phantom product launches. Welcome to AI in 2026."},{"host":"Chris","text":"If Claude Duet is real, that's a big deal. An agent that just... works while you sleep."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"But if it's not, someone is building a rumor mill that moves faster than the companies themselves."},{"host":"Chris","text":"Which is its own story. Half of AI 'news' is just an account with no source and a confident tone."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"And we should say it plainly: these are claims from anonymous aggregators. No official word from either company."},{"host":"Chris","text":"Canva, though... building their own model makes sense. They've been licensing from others for years."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"The stated specs are oddly specific: two K resolution, 55 languages. Someone wrote a whole spec sheet."},{"host":"Chris","text":"Which makes me trust it less. Real launches are messy. Perfect launches are PR."},{"host":"Matilda","text":"We'll keep an eye on both. But for now, the only confirmed story tonight is the Starlink mess. And that one's messy enough for all of them."}]}
